One really gets surprised to see how a govt headed by an Economist can so miserably fail in arresting rising prices as well as fail to contain inflation.
The normal steps which any prudent govt should have taken to ensure availability of essential commodities have not been deliberately taken it seems. Agricultural minister has either failed to foresee the grey areas well in advance or has purposely conspired with the hoarders to create an unpleasant situation for the PM.
Generally a person who does not perform his duties diligently is removed or strongly admonished for his role, but here the compulsion of alliance is NOT allowing him to be sacked.
It is high time Pawar's portfolio is changed and the ministry is handed over to some better person. He appears to have his heels dug very well for all these years. Earlier he is relocated better for Govt and the nation.
